Artificial intelligence is already profoundly changing the way we work, learn, create and make decisions. Its development opens up considerable prospects, but also raises essential questions about its impact on our societies, our environment and our ability to remain in control of our choices.

Through this event, Fondation Sahar wishes to open a space for reflection and dialogue on these transformations, bringing together researchers, technical experts, public officials and citizens.

Three issues have been chosen to shed light on the main tensions surrounding the development of AI:

  1. AI & cognition

How can we make AI a tool that enhances our ability to learn and think, without gradually replacing it?

  2. AI & environment

How can we support the development of AI while limiting its energy and environmental footprint?

  3. Progress & safety

How can we reconcile AI’s potential for innovation with control over the risks it may create?

The aim of this gathering is to move beyond caricatured discourse, between technological enthusiasm and anxiety, to bring complementary viewpoints into dialogue and help everyone better understand the choices before us.

An afternoon to step back, compare perspectives and reflect together on the place we want artificial intelligence to have in our lives and in our society.
